I need someone to pick up my daughter from school 4 days a week and drive her to ballet. Her studio is only a mile from the school. I have no idea how much to pay for something like this, or even how to find someone to do it. |
It’s hard to find someone unless you are ok with a HS kid. When I did this, the travel time from my drivers home to school to activity to back home was just under an hour. I paid $15 for time and 50 cents a mile. |
$25 if they don't need to wait as you need to make it worth their while. |
Want to add that there were lots of days that my driver needed off but she got friends to cover. I live in a neighborhood where we all know everyone so I was mostly ok with this. But I did get my daughter a cellphone. |
You’re going to have trouble finding someone reliable |
We have a babysitter/driver. It was very hard to find someone. We pay her about $20/hr, although we include her own travel time to/from her home. She gives the kid a snack, starts HW if there is any, transports to an activity, and brings her home. |
at least $30 cash per day and that's if the only thing they have to do is sit in kiss and ride line, get kid, drive, and drop kid off. |
It would be a lot easier to just find a ballet school with a class that you can drive your child to yourself (either after you are off work, or on weekends, etc.) |

Can you hire another parent at your school do to this? It seems like piggybacking on someone else's schedule would be by far the most efficient/reliable path. I'd offer $15/day. |
How old is your child? Can't they... walk? |
|
No, they can't walk or bike. Childhood obesity, y'know. |
I am a reliable person but I would do it for $50 min |
I would hate to be that parent you ask. If you pay me than I become your 'employee' and what if our kids didn't like each other or were sick? |
