Pretentious people might do that like on this show, but only to make a point. Sure, sitting in a vintage shop having and salesperson show off different things, she'd mention the designer for the feeling/look. Having someone show you something from your own, limited wardrobe that you very recently packed for a trip...no. Remember when that woman mentioned her sunglasses were $25k? Same thing. |
I'm the PP you quoted and I agree. I clearly implied I didn't aspire to it/fast forwarding the fights. It remains aspirational programming. We are supposed to want exciting lives and $$$. But if you are so angry about it, why are you watching? Hypocrite much? Or do you watch it to feel better than them? That's not too cool, either. Snowflake doesn't really describe the situation and you need to work on your reading comprehension instead of watching this show. |
I don't understand all the hate. dorit is a sweet, down to earth lady, who has exquisite taste |
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAAAAA GOOD ONE! |

If you watch closely you'll also notice that she is the most aware of the camera and is always playing to it. The cringiest moments are when she tries to relive her solid gold dancer days and does the same strip club move whenever there is music. She and Brandy Glanville have a seediness about them that even though they are beautiful there is something not sexy about them. |

Oh, so much to unpack with this latest episode.
Lisa R. - Ok, I don't understand this "chaperone" thing. She gets to Tokyo and clearly her girls have already been there without her. They go off to their shoots - without her. What on earth is she needed for? I was mortified for her when her daughter (Delilah?) said she learned how to "give head" from reading Rinna's book. OMG. I can't even imagine hearing my daughter tell me that. Can't believe no one's mentioned this yet. Also, her daughters are pretty girls - pretty ordinary. I'm not understanding how they got these modeling gigs. They look like any cute girls at the mall on a weekend - nothing remotely special about either. Certainly, they're no Kendall Jenner or Gigi Hadid. Dorit - make it stop. Make the accent STOP. I couldn't believe what a stuck up snob she was when the poor makeup artist was trying to do his job and she kept complaining about not having her *own* squad there. I don't like her, but even I can admit she looked beautiful at that shoot - the guy did a fantastic job. And she was so ungracious when she saw the picture. UGH. She was also such a drunken idiot at Kyle's dinner. I was cringing throughout - really gross behavior. Teddy - she's cute, but I get the feeling she's going to keep hammering us over the head with how "normal" and "non-wealth-conscious" she is. Her kids are really cute. Mauricio - did anyone notice how he looked like he wanted to devour Teddy when he met her? He's always struck me a sleazebag. Camille - yes, she seems very sweet these days. But do any of you remember the first season when she wasn't so sweet? And to the PP who mentioned she's always playing to the camera, re: her strip club dancing - so true! It's painful watching her gyrate like that. Erika - take down the ponytails, wipe off the plastic, shiny, hot pink lip gloss, and act your age. Dear God. I thought it was hysterical when she and Lisa R. went out for sushi and Erika had to take off her ridiculous S&M boots. And she was wearing ordinary black footies!! Too funny. You could see how embarrassed she was that she had to unmask part of her costume. Where is Eileen in all of this madness?? |
I seriously think that Camille has narcissistic personality disorder. I've thought that from the first episode we saw her. I think Kelsey has it too, that's how they were able to tolerate each other in order to get married, and it's why they hate each other so much now. Read about it and it honestly seems so textbook. They were just actors in each other's plays. I feel really sorry for their kids.
The reason Camille is "super sweet" now is classic narcissist behavior. She knows she wasn't getting attention anymore by being a bitch and so now she's fake nice to try to get attention that way. And not sure why people are calling Teddy "non wealth conscious". She made a ridiculous remark at the beginning about how expensive her house was growing up (something like 100 million dollars although I can't remember exactly) when I don't think her father had anywhere near that amount of money. I think she's trying to fit in like everyone else. And yes, Mauricio is a sleazebag. I used to like Kyle a lot but now that she's 'rich rich' like the others she's turned super superficial and it's not a good look. She was never as attractive as some of the other ladies, never as smart or funny or successful, but she always seemed to have good family values and a down to earth marriage and kids etc. Now her kids are little snots (portia in particular is outrageous), her husband is full of himself and all she can think about is how to look richer. It's sickening. Dorit is genuinely beautiful, but she has a revolting personality and she's just getting worse and worse. And I can't even tolerate looking at her disgusting husband, let alone hearing his bitchy comments. I used to really like Erika and now don't like her at all. She's way too full of herself. "You're a singer, right?" "I'm a performer." Ugh. Rinna's girls aren't that attractive and they seem like little snots too. They're lucky they got the modeling gigs through Lisa, otherwise I doubt they'd be even considered even vaguely hot girls in LA. Sad that it's all they have going for them. I miss Eileen. Never thought I'd say it, since she was always so boring. But she was well adjusted and had a loving family. Basically a normal person with more money. I'm almost over the show, really. |
I can assure you that aspirational programming is the most absurd comment I have heard here yet. GIVE ME A BREAK. |
Teddy said the houses on Hilton Head are at least 1 million. Not 100 mil. It was still crass but I think she felt sheepish about saying she's from South Carolinaso she had to point out that if was a nice area and not a trailer park, lest a viewer judge her based on stereotypes. |
I agree except for the bit about Camille. I wish they would clean the slate and start all over again. There have to be a bunch of other wannabe wealthies who want to make more money pushing their clothing/purse/jewelry lines. |
Wealthy panhandlers they are. They don't have the money they are spending. Anyone who thinks Boy George brings in enough $ to fund their lifestyle is foolish. BG can't fund that lifestyle himself. |
There was so much cringey trainwrecking in that last show that no one even remarks on the Rinna girls comments. I agree with so much that you said except for the part about Eileen's loving family. Her husband is a train wreck and we never heard what was going on there. He acted like he could barely stand her. The rumours were that he blew a lot of money gambling. I think she joined the show just to refill the coffers for her eventual retirement. Face it, what normal person would be willing to be on one of these shows? |
Teddy comes off poor, not frugal as she pretends. |
