Rudy is probably out. There's another coach coming from a local club to be announced this week. He's been around awhile.

Dan Caracciolo from BRYC supposedly is FCV’s new U9-12 girls director and U12 coach. He has coached older girls, I believe at the ECNL level. Might they move him up to a GA team? Or could he help pull a coach from Brave who lost an ECNL team in the combination with McLean?

Field permits in Fairfax came out last week for spring. Nobody in Fairfax will see a fall field permit until July. Clubs seem to get the same fields every year so they pretty much can predict though. There aren’t new turf fields sitting around waiting for clubs to ask for them. I believe two factors beyond just giving clubs what they historically get are the percentage of kids at the club from that county and also non-profit status.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think FCV has county or public school fields in Fairfax.
I can’t speak to Loudoun County but I would be surprised if they do things much differently. Randomly asking for a bunch of fields won’t get them for you, unless you can show that they are under-used or the group that normally gets the field has significant drop off in numbers. I doubt any club in western Fairfax is in those situations, and I can’t believe Loudoun soccer is lacking numbers needed to maintain their allocation.

I’ve never understood the genesis of the FCV field issue, but there has to be something to it or FCV wouldn’t be trying to build fields at “an institution in Ashburn off Route 7.” For-profit status might be a disadvantage in the county allocation process, but they’ve always been for-profit. Is LS really growing that much faster than FCV? FCV didn’t even have a boys program a few years ago.

They aren’t building fields. FCV was referring to the deal they were trying to make with VAA to use their fields. They already partner with another club and that’s not going to happen. Just another lie……

AB said at a parent meeting they were looking to resurface an existing grass field and build one new turf and two new grass fields in Ashburn.

They're HOPING to get an answer out in 30-60 days, but also could mean they have NOTHING in 30-60 days from early February.

They said 1 to 2 weeks. ⏰ is ticking.

Its also supposed to be based on the total number of players in your rec +travel programs, and the amount of field space given is based on the ages of the players (u11 and up are suppoosed to get more space). But, our org keeps increasing in numbers but we never get any more turf space. The county also counts grass fields towards your allotment and you can't say, turf only.

A for profit like fcv could probably get some grass field permits but no one wants them

Why? Weather risk? It goes without saying that grass fields are so much better for the players, but I can see weather being an issue in the spring in particular.
