fist period post-miscarriage and TTC again question

Hi,

I had a miscarriage at 12 1/2 weeks about 6 weeks ago. It was awful (as you can imagine) but we are eager to try again. I just got my period last week and it keeps stopping and then starting up again after a day or two. Any thoughts on what that will do to my ovulation? I am usually very regular, but now I am just frustrated and confused...

OP - First, I am very sorry ofr your loss. My period post miscarriage was pretty heavy but otherwise regular. If it keeps up I would call your OB just to be sure. I wish you lots of luck in the future.

hi OP - so sorry for your loss. I had a m/c at 8 weeks about two years ago. The first period went on forever - heavy bleeding and so on. Our OB told us we could go ahead and try to get pg right away, but despite DDD all of the time that month, nothing happened. My cycle was off for about two months and then got regular again. I got pg the fourth month and the first time we really tried after the m/c. one of the things that I can tell you from experience, is to give yourself time to feel grief. it's not an easy experience and if I had gotten pg right away, I would have been extremely nervous. As it was, I was pretty paranoid when we did get pg, but I'm glad for the extra time to heal emotionally. Good luck!

Your ovulation date will most certainly be off.. after we m/c, we waited 1 month, then tried. we got pregnant, but the due date was 2 weeks off what we thought... so basically, it was a fluke we got pregs, because it was WAY after i thought i'd ovulated! good luck!
