Solutions for kids (U10) who get shinguard rashes?

Anonymous
I see those sleeves with slip in shinguards but only for adults. What do you use if your kid gets rashes under their shin guards? Any way to prevent it?

I rub a little Vaseline on my DD’s shin prior to putting on the shin guards. This helped her.

Also, make sure you routinely wash and dry the shin guards after each use. I use a fan to blow dry it.

This is the answer. My DD used to have an outline of shinguard on her shin. The flylites solved the issue.

They are pricey though.

We use something like these but the ones we got previously are out of stock. You can usually got a size up on the sleeves. L Youth Teenager Shin Guard Sleeves for Soccer Sports https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HFQJC1D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mAovDbGFT4916

My kids had awful rashes on their shins until I diluted bleach with water and keep in a jar. I wipe their shinguards with the solution followed by a quick water rinse and they have not had a rash for years. It is a pain to do after every practice/game but it works 100%.

My DD started wearing them at 9 or 10 as well. They do make smaller sizes. They are the absolute best. We tried sleeves, powders and liners on the shin guard. Nothing worked but these.

Try the small if you have to use adult. They may be big for a season or two.

Thanks for this. I'll try this and look into the sleeve things.

DD is on travel so she has uniform socks. I'd prefer for her not to have to wear 2 pairs of socks if she can avoid it!
