| Blackwolf is primarily a high school program but I heard is starting teams in the younger age groups; anybody know details? |
Changing landscape. Club Blue, BLC used to send kids to Blackwolf now these kids are at DC Dogs and DC Express, Next Level is getting younger kids now as well and VLC is getting the better N.VA players 2023 to 2026 that are not playing Madlax, only thing left to do is adding youth teams. If the BW guy wants to still continue to do this, he needs to get kids into his program earlier. Either the start of something or a last ditch effort to keep going? Time will tell. |
| Does that mean BW has a 2024 team already? |
| There are a few '24's and '23's like a combo team. |
| Probably a good move on BW's part. They probably will not play in the HOCO league as they don't do many tournaments and focus on player development. You cannot argue with the recruiting success they have had. |
| Not knowing much about the club, but my guess is ff there is not enough talent to field teams at that age group I doubt they'll even do it. |
| Social media posts say that BW had tryouts the past two SUndays; August 4 and 11. Anybody know the numbers and quality of players, and where they are drawing from? My guess is that families already in a program like Madlax are the ones that Blackwolf would want, and are the ones that might actually be interested. |
| I am guessing from the lack of posts to this thread that Blackwolf did not get enough kids and won't be having a 2026 or 2025 team this year. |
| Too many teams at this age group and not enough travel players. |
Did they get a younger team? How about a freshman team? Were they able to get any top players away from Madlax or VLC as they have done in the past? |
Not doing HOCO and tournaments might work for high school players, who already have significant experience, but middle and elementary school players need the field time. Playing in HOCO definitely made my son better. |
| I don't think enough people knew about it. I'm guessing a lot of the younger VLC families who live way out in Loudoun wouldn't mind not driving to Burke for practice late at night during the week. Maybe next year they'll get the word out sooner. |
Where does Blackwolf practice? |
| No my kid is younger and on another travel team but always good to know your options. The link in this forum to the Gazette is not working. All I can find from Google is high school/college commit stuff from grateful kids. So after this above rude post I'm going to assume it's just internet trash talk. Enjoy this nice weather; it's a beautiful weekend to be outside. |
| It is rude? Not rude as it is true. If you are thinking of this team for the future buyer beware. Ask older parents they know and don’t care. In addition the younger teams are not very talented. |
