I heard that NCRC is getting a new director next year. Any thoughts on how that might affect post-NCRC's placements in other schools? I thought a big portion of the acceptance process is the connection of the preschool director. |
New director this year, and a new director of admission last year. I don't think either change will impact placements at ongoing schools, as NCRC's reputation is beyond solid. |
Is it true that some students will have to spend part of next year taking classes at Glen Echo? A mom just told me this yesterday - I was surprised. No one mentioned this on our tour or at our play date.
Thank you. |
Have they selected a director yet? |
I would imagine the need to take classes at Glen Echo might be because they are afraid that the construction might not be completed in time. |
I think they did pick a director, but don't know who it is. Also, do nonsibling letters go out on the 14th or 15th? |
We had a late playdate and were told at that time that the construction was estimated not to be complete until October. Frankly, as anyone who has dealt with renovations knows, that likely means January.
Our understanding was that the entire school would be displaced until the construction was complete. In terms of a new Director impacting exmissions results, it cannot help but have an impact, since those results are in large part to the relationship between the Director and the Directors of Admissions of the ongoing schools. It might be a positive impact or a negative impact, but it will have an impact. |
Yes, I would agree. Renovations always take longer than expected, especially when dealing with an older building. |
