Elbowed in the stomach on the Metro. Is my implantation screwed?

Anonymous
So pissed but on my commute home a kid elbowed me on the train with his heavy back pack. I am 3 days post 5 day embryo transfer and I’m really bummed and scared this will ruin my chances. It happened pretty fast and hurt while he hit me but didn’t leave any bruises and doesn’t hurt anymore. help!

There is zero way to know.

If this kind of thing prevented pregnancy there would be no people in the world.

What the kids did want nice but it was probably an accident. I really don't think it could have caused any implantation issues. If you're this anxious, just take an Uber. Good luck to you!

Things are happening at the cellular level. A bump that didn’t pierce the uterine wall is likely not going have any impact on implantation. Good luck to you. I hope this cycle is it!

I wish this is all it took to prevent a pregnancy!

There are women who are beaten and still don’t miscarry. There are teenagers whose lives are going to be ruined by an accidental pregnancy, if all they had to do was get elbowed in the stomach, life would be so much easier.

No. Getting elbowed will not change anything either way.

Think about pregnant women who have toddlers. They dive onto you.

No, that's not how it works. I've literally worked with women who have been beaten during their pregnancy (work at a DV shelter) and they have still had their babies. You're good OP, and the kid wasn't being malicious, it was just an accident. Best of luck and fingers crossed for you.

Correct.

Your uterus is tucked below your pelvic bone. A hit to the abdomen isn’t even close and shouldn’t affect implantation.

So true.

Relax. Your stress is more likely to impact implantation than anything else.

Your pregnancy is in your stomach?

This. Your uterus is below your pubic bone. You’re fine.
