Franklin Montessori - playground space?

I'm interested in hearing from current parents at Franklin. What do you think of the outdoor and indoor playspace provided? It is a concern for me as I am looking at our options for this fall.

I have one child at Franklin and my second child will be attending next fall as well. A large playground in the city in hard to find, aside from NCRC and St. Columba. As to Franklin, the indoor gym is great and the outdoor playground is small. There is alot of outdoor activity, though. In addition to the playground, the kids go to Chesapeake park. Two times a week, they also hike at a nearby nature trail. We love the school and the teachers. My child is very happy there and seems to be learning quite a bit. It amazes me. I highly recommend it.

St Alban's ECC and School for Friend's 2 buildings also have large outdoor playgrounds. This was really important to me. Montessori schools, traditionally, do not place an emphasis on outdoor playtime. Friends plays outside for at least 2 hours/day and I believe St Alban's does as well.

The school is in a strip mall on a major road... with huge windows to see into! Of course there is not a large playground!

The outside of Franklin is deceiving. Inside, it's beautiful with several large and bright classrooms. It's also expanding next year, taking over the building next door. Construction is underway.

I believe Franklin kids go to the Forest Hills playground for outdoor play -- does this sound right? If so, it's a nice playground. In terms of city pre-schools with nice playgrounds, Temple Sinai has great outdoor space.
