Snow Boots

Anonymous
I have a young infant and I need a pair of snow boots so I can safely carry him around in the winter when it snows and the sidewalks are icy. I love my uggs but they won't work well with the moisture. Can you recommend a pair of stylish snow boots?

not sure these qualify as fashionable or stylish, but I have something similar to these and they are really functional (and I hope not too hideous with jeans):

Warm, good traction, waterproof, snug fitting so that I don't wobble.

Merrell clogs and shoes are good if you don't need the height of a boot.

I have some Uggs from a few years ago that are waterproof around the foot - something like this (but I don't remember paying that much).

They are very stable on the ice.

i just wear high-toppish hiking boots. they're not pretty. but whatever. having snow on your ankles and sliding around ice in your expensive shoes isn't pretty either.

Same here. These from Lands End work just fine for me. I'm not so concerned about looking cute; I just don't want to fall on my ass.

I like my Le Canadian boots - they have a number of styles that I think are stylish, and Lord and Taylor frequently has them on sale 30-40% off.

OP here--thanks for all the suggestions. I guess it seems like the snow boots that are functional are just not very stylish but I will have to get over it because I don't want to fall while holding my baby!

I second the La Canadienne recommendation. Their boots are awesome. So comfortable and really stylish. The ones that are designed for snow and rain feel very sturdy. Zappos has a great selection of them.

OP here again--so far the La Canadienne option seems like the most stylish. Has anyone had any luck with Cole Haan snow boots?

I love love love my Hunter boots - I bought the warm fleece Hunter brand inserts which make them warm and cozy in the winter.
