Post divorce relationships

How long do your long term relationship last ??

It seems to be around a year based on experience and seeing people reappear on dating sites.

Certainly it varies a lot.

But if people like each other and are excited to have sex, then can imagine they would last a year and then one of them would want a commitment or break up. So "about a year" makes sense, but I doubt it's the norm in any way.

Friend is on year two and engaged. Another married to her post-divorce boyfriend (and a huge step up from her DH)

After my divorce I had a bunch of short term relationships to catch up on certain things such as fun and sex but after two years of that I’ve been in one relationship for almost three years. I’m not sure where it will end up but so far it’s working.

1- 1.5 years was my max. I was serious about settling down with the right person.

I've been divorced for three years and have dated a lot, including a couple long term FWB-type dating that has dropped off whenever one of us is in a relationship and picked up when we're both single.

For relationships, I've had three that have each lasted five to six months, and have ended because we realized it wouldn't get more serious so better to end sooner than later.

First real relationship post-divorce lasted two years, same with the second real relationship. Had a few short ones (3 months ish) and a number of "dating" situations. Now in a fairly serious relationship going on 3 months and think this one has a chance of really working out....

I was married for 19 years. Only had 1 relationship post divorce. Married that guy. So happy.

I’ve been married to mine 11 years.

I have not had a serious relationship since divorcing a few years ago, at 31. I’m in no rush. I have a FWB - it works for now. My standard is finding someone who “matches” my FWB and is local and wants a commitment. I’m not holding my breath

One 2yr fwb relationship; one more serious one that is going on 2yrs. A ton of first and second and third date type things in between.

This was me. I had 3 short term things that were a lot of fun. I settled down with the 4th person I dated.
