| Can someone explain what the NCSL and CCL championship is in plain English? I heard like the top two finishers in D1 gets to join a pool of CCL teams and have a tournament at the end of the year or something like that.. Is that right? Thanks. |

Go to the news section on the CCL website. its right there and you dont have to rely on some forum parent that knows very little to interpret it for you.

| It's just another way to qualify for regionals...basically another tournament |
| NCSL is a lower CCL |
This is not necessarily a true statement. |
Not necessarily but generally applies. CCL clubs have their higher teams in CCL and lower in NCSL. Non-CCL clubs may have better teams in NCSL and provide good competition for this new championship. |
|
CCL clubs are generally stronger across all age groups. But any given NCSL age group probably has at least one team that is very competitive with CCL teams the same age.
But really, CCL was created to make it easier for coaches to take on two or three teams because it synchronizes travel between clubs. That's about it. |
| NCSL is not really competitive soccer. CCL's top 4 or 5 teams can be competitive but in general, the strongest non-ECNL/DA teams play in EDP. |
NCSL is highly competitive... |
| You can't compare the leagues, one is built for large clubs (CCL) and the other enables smaller to independent clubs to participate. It has nothing to do with the quality of teams, you will have strong/weak teams in both leagues. At least the top teams will have a chance to face off, just another route for teams to play each other outside of league. Nothing wrong with that! |
