Maryvale ES .....can anyone share their experiences?

Looking at this cluster. This school doesn’t seem to get a lot of good or bad here in DCUM. Any thoughts is appreciated. Thanks!

The Maryvale ES building is currently closed for renovations and all classes are at a smaller temporary facility. That's all I know. We considered the French immersion program, but didn't get a spot in the lottery.

Construction is scheduled to be finished January 2020, and Maryvale will then be back in its own space. They are combining Maryvale with Carl Sandburg learning center.

Our DC will be starting the French immersion (K), so would also love to hear from folks. I like that it seems very diverse

Maryvale employed a teacher who had maintained a relationship with a convicted sex offender and refused to take action after repeated notifications. They don't allow the public to view recent updates on their twitter page. You have to join twitter, follow them and wait to be approved.

Is it against MCPS rules to maintain a relationship with a convicted sex offender?
