Nervous need help

My embryos came back from PGS/PGT testing. The 5Day embryo was abnormal complex +2+15. Does anyone know what that means.

Day 6 was normal. Should I proceed with that? Or has to be day 5.

day 6 embryo has less successful rate, presumably because slow growing embryos are likely to have abnormal chromosomes. But it is not definite.

PP Here the +2 +15 means the chromosomes that are abnormal

I would go with the normal embryo. What does your RE suggest?

Definitely proceed with the normal embryo first! That’s great that you got a PGS-normal! Congrats!

Will your clinic even transfer the abnormal one?
Anonymous
Obviously you shouldn’t transfer a genetically abnormal embryo when you have a PGS normal. Day 6 is fine - both my pregnancies were day 6 embryos- maybe day 5s have a tinier better outcome if at all... you should be really happy that you have something normal to transfer! Good luck!

Congratulations on a PGS-normal embryo. Don’t worry about day 5 vs. day 6. Good luck, OP!

Clinics are growing them out till 6 or 7 days now. Definitely transfer the normal one.

Not many aneuploudues result in full term pregnancies. I would not transfer it at all.

yes, proceed with the normal day 6 embryo. like a PP said, don't worry about day 5 versus day 6. my RE says day 5 vs 6 doesn't matter, although i have seen some studies that suggest day 5's have a slightly higher success rate. still, a day 6 normal has the right number of chromosomes and is very likely to result in success -- way more than a pgs abnormal or mosaic.

Yes, go with the normal.

I have a pair of healthy 8 year old kids who were once day 6, slow growing, imperfect blasts.

Good luck!

Through 6 rounds of IVF all of my blasts formed on day 6, including some PGS normal, abnormal and untested. None of them took. Then I did an ERA that showed I needed an extra day of progesterone for my lining to be optimally receptive. I dont think its a coincidence that my blasts are developing the same day my lining is receptive so for some day 6 blast is better than day 5.

Complex abnormal means multiple chromosomes affected. the + tells you that there is extra material in these chromosomes (as opposed to missing bits).

Most clinics won't let you transfer abnormal, no matter what the abnormalities are, so you probably don't have a choice. But even if you did, PPs are correct - normal is best and once it tests normal you can generally forget about the day.
