I don’t even know where to go from here. Miscarriages ranged from 9 weeks to 20 weeks. Babies have all been totally healthy and then suddenly the heart just stops. I have been tested for a bunch of things and they have no answers. I tried taking baby aspirin but it’s not helping. We are mid 30s
It’s so easy for us to get pregnant but do I need to look at Ivf? Getting so desperate for any sort of hope. Please share any insight you may have. |
| Have you had recurrent miscarriage testing done? There’s a standard panel of tests that should be run to look for common causes of miscarriage. I’m sorry for your losses. |
| I am so sorry. Could it be autoimmune? My secondary infertility likely was and it was affecting placental quality. I did eventually have a second child, but she had IUGR because of a small placenta. |
IVF will not stop miscarriages. Donor egg might. |
| I would do whole exome sequencing. |
Yes they did the testing on us after we lost #3 and found nothing.

My doctor has suggested autoimmune issues but told me all I can do for that is the baby aspirin. Did you do anything different during your pregnancy with your daughter? |
No, but oddly my other autoimmune issues went into temporary remission at about that time anyway. I got pregnant with her by accident. We had stopped trying. |

| So sorry OP. Did they do testing on the babies to see if they had chromosomal issues. I had 3 miscarriages as secondary infertility but they all had chromosomal issues. IVF with pgs testing actually can identify those issues before you transfer the egg. I would recommend trying an IVF/PGS round. I also have an autoimmune disease but I dont think that was causing the miscarriages because I was able to carry to term after doing IVF |
I have thyroid issues and started synthroid which lead to a successful pregnancy. My IVF doctor was Dr. Abassi at Columbia fertility and my endocrinologist was Dr. Linda Liu. |

Have you seen an MFM (I recommend Pinckert) and done a full blood panel test? I would also see an RE. Finally, if you’re here in DC, go see Kate marosek , she’s an infertility/pregnancy loss therapist, she is of good counsel and know all the docs/specialists in the area. Could you have some other issue? A uterine anomaly? Something else?
(These are the people who helped me after two early losses and a stillbirth—I now have a toddler). Good luck! |
Yes, they did test the babies and all tested "normal" with no chromosomal issues. They were all males (my one successful pregnancy was a female) however, doctor said that doesn't matter. |
Thanks for the recommendation. |
Thank you - I didn't even know there was such a thing as a Pregnancy loss therapist. I'll look into it. And yes, we did the full panel. We didn't get any answers whatsoever. It is starting to feel like I'm at the end of my rope. |
