Is this a come on scam?

I received a letter from a dealer for my car make. It is actually a letter--with a note attached to me-- from one dealer to another asking him to see if I am willing to sell my car to a buyer interested in purchasing a car of my model and year. The particular version of the model is co-branded and was made for only two years.

The dealer says he is willing to pay up to to $2000 above list or up to $10,000 in savings on a new car or financing down to 0% for 60 months.

Genuine offer or a way to get me to come in and try to sell me a new car? I bought my car used and usually drive my cars for 12 to 14 years before replacing.

Just a sales tactic.

A sales tactic, I presume.

We get those from our jeep dealer. They just want you to buy a new car.

They send those advertisements to everyone.

Why would dealers send letter to each other and not email? I think if you examine that “note” more closely, you’ll find that it was printed in large quantities in clever ways to make it look personalized.

Please don’t send any money to Nigerian princes.

Sales tactic, especially if you’re leasing.
