The nanny we want to hire wants to make $21 an hour after taxes, for one child 90% of the time and occasionally two kids. We’d have to pay about $28 an hour. Is this nuts for the DMV? Sounds like maybe it is...!?? |
God this again. You negotiate a gross market rate. They fill out a W4 and you withhold accordingly. Their taxes are their responsibility. |
Either you pay her what she wants or find another nanny. It’s nuts that you think she should lower her rate for you. |
It depends what you are looking for. English speaking, CPR certified, several years experience, childcare certifications, good driver etc. These things cost more.
I am not saying you need all these things to snuggle a baby but this is where the rates are variable. |
And you’re nuts to think someone else is going to pay your taxes for you. This is wild, seriously. |
Those candidates know how to pay their own taxes... |
It’s wild that you read something that wasn’t written. |
Where does it say the nanny wants the employer to pay her taxes? She has a rate of what she wants to get paid after taxes. Op figured out it would be about $28/hr to get the nanny to that rate. What are you confused about? |
Yes, that’s way above market. |
You can probably find a grad student who would be interested. |
