Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
Don't want to cook them this year - does anyone have a recommendation?
Good question! The ones from WF are no good-- even frozen ones from TJs are better, but I don't know if Kosher Mart might be better.
Chutpah Deli in Tysons has them
OP Here - Montgomery Cty or NW DC options best. Thanks.
have you tried checking the kosher mart in wheaton? or max's right next door?
I ordered latkes from Krupin's one year and was really disappointed. I am trying Kosher Mart for sufganiot, but think I'll go with TJ's frozen latkes.
Krupin's is now called Morty's, but I think it is pretty much still the same place. I was there a couple of months ago and ordered the latkes and my DH and I both thought they were pretty good. But, they came right out of the oven, not sure how well they'd transport.
Not sure where to buy them already made but I have tried a frozen brand called Goldens and they are actually pretty good-especially if you fry them lightly in oil according to the package directions as opposed to microwaving them-gotta say, I was pretty impressed with the quality for a frozen latke.
I am the earlier Krupin's poster. They were bought under the Morty's regime. Great in store - do not transport well. |
