Hands on Yoga

Anonymous
I've been going to Yoga District classes and I've found I really miss some hands on adjustments. I used to go to a class (outside of DC) where the teachers would come around during shavasana and press on your shoulders or massage your head for a couple of seconds. I realize it's not for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. Is there anywhere in DC where the yoga instructors are more hands on?

I have been going to Yoga District for a while and have found that some of their classes have more hands on instructors. This is the Bloomingdale location though.

Do you remember who? I don't think I've ever had an adjustment there (and I am not good at yoga!)

Sweet Bay yoga instructor Laurel does this. Bethesda.

Depends on the instructor and how comfortable they feel providing assists, and class size for doing things during savasana. With the latter, if the class is too big the teacher won’t be able to get the everyone. I’m a yoga teacher and I may not provide assists your first class bc I’m looking to see how your body moves. Every body is different and I don’t do assists just to do them, unless I see you’re doing something that will cause injury.
