Every club in Northern VA is merging... new entity is called NOVA FC.

Anyone planning to try out, or is everyone just going to be forced to by their club whether they like it or not?

Then only the very top tier teams teams have to play travel soccer. The rest of the teams can play in the 1,000 team house league

Then "elite" talent ID could be local within your county. from there you could make it to the NOVA FC team.

can you imagine how strong a team Nova FC would be? it will be stronger than Dallas FC or any other club it would be hard to be in the top team of Nova FC a real fight for top player. No water down top teams with 3 or 4 good players that carry a whole team

The only difference between this thread and the other talent consolidation/dilution discussion is that this put a name to the idea.

The issue is not the number of clubs and competition amongst clubs, it is the number of leagues and exclusionary practices this creates. But, yeah if you want NOVA to beat other area’s (like NJ and SoCal) top teams, then consolidating the very top talent would make sense. However, that’s not really an important goal. Yeah, I know this thread is a joke thread ... but figured I’d add two cents on the gist of the topic.

To start off with, there will be a location for Loudon, Fairfax, Prince William, and Arlington counties. the "top talent" within their own county will be on that county's top team.

When they get older (U14/U15?), they can switch to a later practice time - 7-8:30 or some such a time that makes it easier for commuting.

It can be like the national team or ODP - they will train together for a week here or there at a time in preparation for tournaments but they still stick to their own "county top-tier team" most of the time.
