Crap! I just started spotting and I know I will have full flow by 5pm, which means today is cd 1. So I should go for my u/s and start clomid (medicated IUI cycle) on Sunday, cd 3. There's no way I can go on Sunday morning - DH is away, and I have no one to watch DC.
Does anyone know if they will let me start on cd 4 instead? I know it's ok to start clomid later than day 3, but do I absolutely have to have the u/s done on cd 3? Should I just call tomorrow and say that is cd1? I've been stressing about this for days, and I am so frustrated that I couldn't make just 6 more hours without starting my period! I'm at SG. I'm hesitant to call and ask this question directly b/c if they say I have to come in on cd3, I can't go, and I don't want to miss another cycle - that will make 3 in a row, and with setback after setback, I'm ready to give up before we even begin. |
| GW said that you could start on CD 4, but I don't know if they just said that to rationalize not doing weekend monitoring for ppl doing Clomid/IUIs. |
| Ive asked twice about this and was told it was okay, just be sure to tell them its CD4 |
| If they don't let you start on day 4, just go in on Sunday and take DC with you. Seriously - I've seen kids there before. If you're in a pinch and don't have anyone to watch DC, they'll just have to deal. You can wait in the hall, have them call you when you need to go in for your blood work, then wait in the hall until they bring you in your U/S room. The weekend receptionists are generally pretty nice, so if you explain your situation when you come in I'm sure they'll work with you. |
| I went to SG and my nurse told me that if you start after 5:00 pm that you count the next day as day 1. |

Ok, they said I can go in on Monday (cd4). Now the offices are closed, so I can't schedule an appt.
Will I be able to call the DC office tomorrow morning to get an appt? Or can I just show up during monitoring hours on Monday morning at the DC office without an appt? |
Just show up It happens alot....Ive started on Sat, and just called and left a message that I would be there on Monday morning, and they got me right in.

I think Monday is just fine.
I started an IVF cycle (stims) at SG on cycle day 5 due to scheduling issues and still got pregnant (twins). The difference between day 3 and 4 is negligible. FSH levels can be drawn any time from day 2-4 (most commonly on day 3) which further indicates that a woman's hormone levels and reproductive state are pretty static during this time period and don't vary much from one day to the next. |
| A little late for this round, but if you get AF on the weekend and need to schedule a Monday appointment, you can call the Rockville number (which only allows you to leave a message) and someone will call you back that day to schedule the appointment. |

Thanks everyone.
I just went to the DC office w/o an appt and it was fine. I didn't know to call Rockville; I called the DC office on Saturday morning but I got "the office is now closed for lunch" recording and it wouldn't allow me to leave a message. Anyway, they fit me in right away (I was in & out in 30 min.), so it was great. Now hopefully my nurse will call this afternoon to tell me I'm good to start this cycle! |
