Kia Telluride

Anyone have one or decide against it? We need a mid sized SUB and considering it

I saw one just yesterday. It’s very nice looking.

Being a GDI engine, I wonder if they’ve solved the carbon accumulation problem in the intake valves? I mean, how does detergent gasoline help if it never sees the intake valve and goes straight into the cylinder?

Butt ugly, imho. It’s the SUV version of “she’s got a face for radio.”

New car, new model, first year...... if reliability is something you value, I'd avoid it. Better to purchase a car that's been produced at least 4 years, better yet, purchase a car in it last model year just prior to major redesign. Not only do you a) get the most reliable model year in that particular series, but also b) because a new design has been announced, you get better discounts/rebates on that model year. Hard to time it, but possible. Easier to do with used car purchase.

If the above/reliability is not an issues, I'm sure the Kia Telluride is a fine car. Let us know what you decide.

Decided against it because we heard Kia parts are double the price. So your advice seems sound about buying right before a redesign. Anyone know a SUV that might fit that description now? Who is redesigning in 2020?

Highlander is introducing a new 2020, so a 2019 might be a good buy

Yup, perfect time for a 2019 highlander. I am waiting for the 2020 for the upgraded infotainment system; otherwise I would jump on a 2019 model.
Also buying used Audi Q7 may be an option - they are a good deal a year or two old; popular lease car that gets turned over a lot.

“Double the price” ? What’s that even mean?
