Activity levels after embryo transfer

Anonymous
I am starting my first IVF cycle this month and we will do a fresh transfer of all goes well. After the embryo transfer I’m really paranoid that my day to day activities like running errands or walking the dog could possibly jostle the embryo and interfere with implantation. Does anyone have any tips or assurances of how to maximize chances after transfer?

It won’t. The embryo is microscopic, I would just take the first few days after it easy, but after that you can go back to normal, just no twisting or lifting heavy things.

It won't. But as a nurse pointed out to me, it's less about increasing the odds and more about minimizing regret.

My RE encouraged taking a walk a few hours post-transfer to get the blood flowing. I opted for bed rest on transfer day, took a walk the next morning and then just kept my activity on the milder side until beta day. Slow neighborhood walks, ran some errands, went out to eat, no heavy lifting, no gym. No idea if anything made a difference, but the transfer worked and my approach reduced my anxiety.

Someone once said it’s like a grain of sand in a peanut butter sandwich - it isn’t going anywhere!
