Making a cute chalkboard Bday sign?!

Title says it all. WTH, this is way harder than I thought it would be. I have the board and chalk pens but my designs are meh at best. I’m just now realizing some Of the really cute ones are printed. Have you done one?? Freehand or stencil? Help please! I’ve restarted 10 times

Maybe this is too obvious, but have you tried straight up copying something from pinterest? Like, don't bother coming up with your own spin on it, just use someone else's. Yours will look different anyway because you are doing it by hand.

People probably buy them on Etsy, you can get them custom

I made my own- took a lot longer than I expected. I did it mostly freehand but used a ruler for lines and a stencil for circles. I copied a design from Pinterest.

See if you can find a template online. I'm sure someone has come up with something, or you can find lettering templates and create your own. I've bought customized templates for birthday party stuff on Etsy before, usually a printable download for just a few dollars.
