It's not the clinic that controls the lot it's the donor egg bank. When you look at the catalog you can see how many eggs per lot. I suspect that if a donor yields a lot they split it up.

I have used several donors from donor bank USA. The most I’ve seen is 8 and that is rare. I mostly see 5-7 egg lots.

Ccrm gives guarantee of at least 9 eggs

I work with a clinic in Philadelphia (Penn Medicine). Their plan wording says at least 6 but the doctor in charge of the donor program told me they like to give a minimum of 8 these days bc recent studies have shown a higher correlation with live birth at 8 or above. Depending on the number of eggs from the donor they will give more. For example, when I was choosing, they had 18 eggs frozen from one donor. I twas told if I chose that donor they would give me 9 of the eggs and keep the 9 for another family (as opposed to me and 2 other families 6 eggs each).

SGF prefers to aim for a smaller number of higher quality eggs and try to ensure that the donor isn't overstimulated, which is dangerous for them.

We were initially disappointed by the small number of eggs yielded by our young and healthy donor. But almost all fertilized and turned into high-quality blasts. We transferred just 1 (elective single-embryo transfer, which they recommended to avoid twins) and had a healthy birth, so we certainly can't complain.

When I worked with World Egg bank we chose a donor who was about to start a cycle. The fixed price lot is six eggs, and you can pay for additional eggs, if they exist.
