I have two containers of sour cream I want to use up before they expire so I googled some recipes for them. Some of the recipes were for cakes!
Has anybody used sour cream in cakes? Sour cream doesn't have much of a taste - do the cakes still have some flavor to them? Does the sour cream make them fluffy or something? Any experience with sour cream cakes? I have the reduced fat sour cream...does that make a difference in a reciepe? |

| I made a chocolate chip sour cream cake in a loaf pan... no way you could tell it was made with sour cream. It just makes the cake more dense and moist. I think reduced fat would be fine, that is probably what I would have used. |
