Anyone take their City Elite when traveling by air?

I'd really love to have it for where we're going (planning on lots of long walks), but it is a bulkier stroller and I wasn't sure how amenable airlines would be to gate checking it.

I have the City Mini but I do take it when traveling by air. I drop it off before I board. It's light but combined with my toddler and carry on it's a bit much (I travel without DH most times so I only have two hands). I'm dumping it for an umbrella stroller moving forward.

We take our Uppa Baby Vista with us when we travel, never had an issue with gate checking it. Got a stroller bag to protect it. We see so many other couples checking huge strollers we don't feel self-conscious at all.
