Wanted to take my 6yr old skiing with us this year. I do not feel like my 3yr old is ready for ski lessons. Is it terrible to let grandma keep her for the weekend? |
No. |
No! Do it. |
I guess that depends on Grandma. Assuming that Grandma is fun, the 3 yr old will likely enjoy that more than a ski weekend. |
My DD is 2 and DH has been taking older kids skiing solo for the past 3 years. I am not a skier though.
Leave the 3yo behind. |
Just throwing this out there....Club Med is opening their first resort in Quebec in Dec 2020. There will be a mini club for 4+. |
Why not just ski locally and make a day of it (instead of a weekend)?
That way it is easier to spin it to your 3 yr old that it's going to be Fun Day with Grandma (and have something special/ fun lined up to kill the day). |
We do this for various things. We have a 5 year age gap and I can’t hold back the older one because the younger one just can’t do something yet. Sometimes one of us stays home with the younger and some times we leave him with grandma. |
Nothing wrong with that.
There are other options too. Why not go someplace like Aquatopia at Camelback? Grandma can play with the three year old at the waterpark while you all ski, then meet up for dinner. The resort offers things like arts and crafts, magicians and wildlife shows in the lobby. Or you could ski in the morning at Camelback (which has a daycare for 3 year olds btw) and stay at the Great Wolf nearby, so the whole family can enjoy the waterpark together in the afternoon after morning ski camp. |
