parking ticket from out of state?

Do I need to pay a parking ticket (expired meter) from a small town in NJ?
Will they track me down for the money in DC?

Piggy backing on Op’s Post
Same question, but the parking ticket was in Dc.

Were you guilty? If so, geez, just pay it.

A lot of towns will give your ticket to a collections agency and have them hound you.

Most presidential nominees have to go pay all their unpaid tickets...

You probably want to pay a DC ticket. I wouldn't risk it.

If you ever want to drive through NJ again, I suggest you pay it. Your tags will be recorded and you will be pulled over and arrested for the unpaid ticket.

Oh and it’s such a crappy ticket. I used my park mobile app at 5am, and in my bleary eyed stooper, I clicked the wrong car.
So, I paid for parking AND the Ahole meter- maid gave me 2 tickets ( 80 bucks) for basically the same offense just with slightly different wordings.

Yes. Many jurisdictions say ‘pay or appear in court to contest’. You do neither then it’s failure to appear. Do it again and it’s over. You’re donee.
