Shady grove - first appointment

Anonymous
I have an initial appointment at Shady Grove in 2 weeks. They said no testing would be done, just a review of medical history. For those of you with experience, after the initial appointment, how long does it typically take to get things moving and before a course of treatment is decided and executed? I guess I'm feeling anxious - we've been trying for over 1 year (for #2) and my OB just kept saying "it would happen" so I think I might calm down a bit when we have an actual plan.

We had our initial consult, then I called on day 1 of my next cycle to set up CD3 bloodwork/ultrasound and schedule the HSG (that was done on day 10 for me). Somewhere in there, DH provided a sample for analysis.
We knew going in that my issue was PCOS, then the bloodwork turned up an additional issue that necessitated an MRI, so it was about 3 cycles total between that initial consult and the start of treatment (started with clomid/IUI). If it hadn't been for needing to schedule an MRI, I could have started the clomid/IUI treatment cycle a month earlier.

You go in for the consult and then you schedule everything on the first day of your next period.

“Everything” meaning diagnostic tests. Blood work, sperm analysis (although this can be done sooner) and a HSG and ultrasound.

I scheduled my appointment in May and by June we were getting tests done. Luckily my next appointment was before my next cycle so we could begin treatment in July. My original doctor was on vacation in June and wasnt available until July. I argued with them to get switched to a different doctor who could see me before my July cycle so that helped keep the ball rolling
