Or any variation of such. I now know 3 people who named their daughters Brooklyn. WTH? I can't imagine ever being taken seriously with this name. It sounds so reality showish or jersey shore. What is with this? |
I know an adult Brooklyn who is nearly 50 and she is lovely. |
My niece's group of friends included Dakota, Cheyenne, Brooklyn and Savannah.
|
I think it's pretty, although I wouldn't choose it myself.
I had a student once named Brookland which might be the most awesome D name ever. |
Brooklyn is cute and strong, Brook is a great nickname, I had a friend named Brook back in the 60s so it's been around for awhile. I do, however, draw the line at naming kids Queens or Staten Island. |
Bronx? No thonx! |
I kinda like Bronxie! Manhatten, though....don't think so. |
I like Brook(e) and Lynn, but combined it always sounds like a hillbilly name even though it's supposed to be so urban(e). |
Fun fact. The Bronx is so called because a long time ago a lot of the land was owned by Bronck.
Bronck's land! |
Hudson, Chelsea, Randall, Ward, Lex, Waverly, Rose, Beca, and Nolita are all better names |
I’ve met a few professionals named Brooklyn. People seemed to take them seriously. I certainly did. I make my decisions based on qualifications, not names. If someone’s opportunities to earn those qualifications is blocked because the admissions or hiring committee thinks the name is “Jersey Shore”, that’s discrimination. |
I know someone who named her daughter Liberty! |
Max Scherzer's daughters are named Brooklyn and Kacey. If it's good enough for Max it's good enough for me.
Fun Fact: New this year catcher Yan Gomes also has a daughter named Brooklyn! |
Libby is a cute NN |
GO NATS! |
