How to donate embryos

I know about Miracles Waiting. Are there other sites to use if I have embryos to donate? I’m not religious and am not interested in “adoption.”

Ask the clinic you worked with. They may have embryo donation programs now.

The overwhelming majority of our embryos are Caucasian and need good homes. We have very few minority embryos. For that reason, we generally reserve minority embryos to be matched with recipients of the same ethnic background. We do make exceptions in the cases of Caucasian recipient families who already have adopted children of different ethnic backgrounds.

And I guess they don’t let same sex couple adopt. “Couples must be a genetic male and a genetic female married for a minimum of 3 years.”.

Holy crap is right. Basically they won't match white babies to any other families but white families can treat it like a buffet. Nothing crazy racist about that at all!

Love the insinuation that minority embryos don't need good homes.

And the outright statement ("For that reason,") that minority families cannot provide good homes to caucasian embryos. This is honestly the most baldfaced racism I've seen on a company website since ever.

I don't think that is what they meant to say. This is a FAQ section and the question was "Can I adopt embryos of a different ethnicity?". They are saying that because they don't have a lot of minority embryos they reserve those for people of the same ethnicity, so that they too can adopt a baby of their same ethnicity. But they may make an exception for a white family that already has a child of a different ethnicity. Sometimes people who adopt get placed with a child of a different ethnicity and that family sometimes wants to give them a brother or sister of their adopted child's same ethnicity. Its actual very sweet and not a "buffet" as a PP called it.

However, I do think it sucks that they don't allow adoption for same sex couples and some of the other regulations they have.

All the info at Shady Grove said I wouldn’t be a candidate, but when I chose to thaw my remaining embryos they called and emailed me 3-4 times to make sure I didn’t want to donate.

Except there's no corresponding exception for minority families who have already adopted a white child to get a white embryo here. This isn't sweet, it's racism.

It sounds to me like they allow minority couples to adopty a white embryo REGARDLESS of whether or not they already have a white child.
