Please help me. New on computers and I do not know how to cut and paste on iPad

Please help. I simply want to learn how to cut and paste on deurbanmom on my iPad. If I want to highlight your answer and then reply, how do I do it. Please be patient, I am just learning. Would love specific steps. I have googled it and looked on you tube, but cannot make it work. Thank you so much!

Hold your finger down on the text and a box will pop up -- you can "select all" to select all the text or move your finger around to only select a portion of the text. Then a copy pop up will appear. Once you have copied hold your finger on the screen where you want to paste the text -- a box will pop up that includes the option to "paste".

You can also just hit "quote" in DCUM if you want the text of the original OP to show up when you reply.
