Could this have been h1n1?

(this was for me -an adult)
In early October, I suddenly felt run down and feverish, chilled, etc, but mildly- I could tell i had a low fever. Sure enough it was around 99.7 or so. I went to bed bundled, woke up sweaty, etc. had very mild muscle aches. Long story short, I ended up with a fever for 5 days but it was almost always 99.8 or less- every so often 100. I had a pounding headache each day for a week (until I took Excedrin) and a hacking cough for a few of the days- enough that I aggravated a hernia in my abdomen. However, I was still out and about, running errands etc just taking Tylenol and sleeping when I could. I tested neg. It was just unlike any illness I have ever had in my 38 years, which makes me think hmmm.. and it was prime h1n1 season then. I know doesn't matter but I was just curious of other experiences with adults who did have h1n1. thanks!

The rapid test can't rule out influenza, only rule in.

The temps you speak of aren't a fever -- that is over 100.4 -- but there is a small population that isn't febrile with h1n1. Anecdotally I've heard they tend to feel febrile even though they are not.

It could well have been. There's really no way of knowing, unfortunately!

Folks please don't run errands with a hacking cough. You are filling the whole room with the virus.
