I'm Done!

I sucked it up and paid the $49.50 to have my 2 young kids vaccinated with their h1n1 Boosters today. The first round--no lines for 4year old at public clinic, 1.5hr wait with 18month old at public clinic. This time, 2nd round, no line, parking 3 steps away (free someone had already fed the meter). I was torn---I know it will prob be in greater abundance in coming weeks and may have had luck at peds or public clinic for free,,,but it's done! They got their first injections 10/21 and 10/24 so we were fairly close to the window.

Hope they sleep well and no side effects like last time! Good luck to everyone. I sure hope we all don't have to go thru something like this next year.

What were their side effects last time?

NONE! That sentence did not come out like I intended. I hope, just like last time, we once again have zero side effects.

Why in the world did it cost $49.50? In Virginia, they aren't legally able to charge more than $19 per shot/mist.

Farragut in DC charges $24.50/shot--maybe that's where OP went?

(Sorry, that doesn't add up.)

Who is charging and how are they doing that? I thought since this was a "govt entity/commodity" that no one CAN charge for it since the govt paid for it?
Anonymous
They can charge to administer the shot (they have to pay their staff and pay for supplies), but they can't charge for the shot itself.

It was at Farragut. They were fantastic. I am pissed that ppl can make $ on this, but I just wanted to be done with it. They were $24.50/piece. I received forms to submit to my insurance--which I plan to press hard to get reimbursed out of principle!

Re: toddler...I basically let him run up and down the aisles of the auditorium while some very nice lady watched my bags and held my spot. I brought a portable DVD player which every child but mine seemed to like watching.
