Expectant and Postpartum Moms
|
For this year's Secret Santa gift exchange I need to buy something for someone who is pregnant with her 3rd child.
I know that I get annoyed that all my gifts are towels, tablecloths, and blankets so I was trying to think of something that a pregnant mom would want. I am not close enough to this person to know much about her personal tastes. I'm thinking the budget would be about $40, but all I can think of within budget would be a gift certificate for a pedicure (which I don't even know if she'd be into). If anyone has any other ideas I'd love some help coming up with something good! Thanks in advance! |

If I was pregnant with my 3rid - I would be into any spa certificate but that is me.
I would also like: photo album, scented candles, pj's or a new robe, book store gift card. |

Lets see - I'm only on #2, but things I would like would include something like a Starbucks gift card (especially if close to the end!), or gift cards for a spa or some such. If this is a work thing and you go for a gift cert for a mani / pedi or something like that, I would probably get it for a place close to work, as that might be easier to swing in terms of arranging child care (at least that's my experience.)
Other things could be picture frames with spots for all 3 kids, iTunes gift cert (if you think she has an iPhone or iPod). |
| Before I even saw what you were considering, I was going to suggest a pedicure gift certificate. Totally the way to go. |
| And if you think she might not be into mani/pedis, then what about a Barnes and Noble/Borders gift card. I have never been upset about getting one of those. |
| gift card (starbucks; amazon, etc) or mani/pedi. Because when you're really pregnant, there's no way you can get even close to your toes! |
| Thanks for the confirmation that a spa type of deal is probably the way to go. I know I love a good facial, massage or pedicure. Any suggestions for some place around Chevy Chase? I know Red Door is there. Anything else? |
| You can't get a pedi for $40 at Red Door. Maybe a mani. I'm pregnant with my 3rd and I gave up manis years ago...it generally chips instantly running around after 2 kids. Are you going for lux? If not, I go to Toe Tally Nails in Cleveland Park and think that they do a fine job. |
| You can also get a gift certificate through SpaFinder (http://www.spafinder.com/Catalog/spagiftcertificates.jsp) that she can used at any participating spa. |
I gave a friend who was 35 weeks pregnant a gift cerificate to Skin Beauty Lounge (DC) and she used it for getting her legs waxed. She had it done a week before she gave birth and was relieved to have smooth, hairless legs during the delivery
