Turtle Park splash pads?

First time parent here - I brought my toddler to Turtle Park in NWDC on Saturday, and when we got there, the water was on in the splash pads, but at some point shut off. I couldn't figure out how to turn the water back on, and none of the other parents knew either. Is there a way to turn the water on? Or is it just automatic / timed?

Is there a button or a hand-shaped sensor? Most of the DC splash parks have that

I had this same question! We were just there this weekend and I did not see any button or sensor to turn on the water.

There is apparently a big black button that you step on. I found this out from a friend after asking her the same question, however, I haven't yet been back to locate the button!

I have looked everywhere for a button to press and could not find it, but recently our nanny told us there are "round loops" on the splash pad that you step on to turn it on.

My husband and I were just wandering around looking for buttons while our poor toddler was annoyed that the water wasn't running. Next occurred to us to step on anything. Ha.

It’s built into the pad. Step on it to reactivate.
