Raise for nanny

Anonymous
We are coming up on our nanny’s one year anniversary in a few months and we are figuring out the pay raise. No changes in the workload and no additional babies. She is still going to be with us part time and we are generally happy with her. What kind of raises did you give out? Nannies, what have you received?

It has been between 3% and 5% for me.

About 5% and additional vacation days (nanny is full time). Cost of living plus bump.

Career nanny here. I generally ask for a 5% raise ($1 minimum) and an additional vacation day at the end of the first year. I do not expect to continue at a 5% increase every year as I generally am with one family for 4+ years, but definitely after year one.

3% or less is just a cost of living adjustment. 5% minimum for an actual raise.

Part time nannies generally expect at least $25/hr., or when they get a FT offer, they’ll just go with that.
