Anyone have an idea (preferably non-messy) for a craft to keep a couple of preschoolers busy one morning? They both love crafts and I wanted to do something seasonal. Thanks! |
Our preschool had the kids make flags/streamer things with red, white and blue crepe paper streamers attached to a wand (or could be a toilet paper tube) and paper fans with accordian pleats with red, white and blue scribbles on them. |
I’m big on art vs. craft. So I would get a lot of white paper and red and blue paint to make it seasonal. Get some kitchen gadgets (potato mashers, spatulas, scrub brushes, plastic forks. Line tour surface with a disposable plastic tablecloth. Squirt the paint in paper plates, then let the kids at it. See what happens! They make beautiful firework style art or they may mush it all around with their hands and make a brown mess, but that’s okay too! Let them have fun, don’t give advice or tell them what it should look like.

Easy fireworks: dark colored craft paper, glitter glue in different colors, glittery star shaped stickers in a few different colors. They can “draw” fireworks using the glitter glue and use stickers strategically.
Of course anything red white and blue would work too. |
