Dr. Solomon (new doc) at Women's Health Corp practice in Mclean

Anonymous

Hello all. I've been with Dr. Bannon for several years now. Just found out I'm pregnant!!!! It's still very early, about 4 weeks, but since I'm super anxious I want to get in to see my doc asap. The only doc available this soon is a new doctor who just joined the practice, Dr. Solomon. Should I see her, or wait a few weeks for Dr. Bannon? Advice? Opinions about Solomon those of you who've seen her? And if I do see Solomon, you think I can easily go back to Bannon, or will I be "assigned" to Solomon? Thoughts? Thanks!!

Congrats, OP. I don't know about this particular practice, but at most group offices, you rotate through all the OBs while during your pregnancy since you can't be sure who will be on call when you deliver. It's good to meet everyone. That said, many practices don't schedule the first appointment until 8-12 weeks so you can wait, unless you feel you need to be seen sooner for some reason.

I am one of Dr. Bannon's patients. As noted by the PP, I have rotated through each of the docs at the practice, including Dr. Solomon, to meet them in case they are on call. Dr. Solomon was fine and I would have no concerns if she were on call when I delivered. However, I just tend to prefer Dr. Bannon's more authoritative demeanor. She puts me at ease - something that I really appreciated during those initial appointments. I would wait, particularly since you are so early.

Congrats!

That's my OB practice and I love them all. Dr. Lawson was my doctor and at first didn't really care to meet any of them but when I did, i realized they're all as amazing as each other. Dont worry--go see Dr. Solomon.
