I’ve avoided any kind of floaties until now because of the fear of false confidence, but I’d really like to be able to take my twins to the pool alone this summer. Are puddle jumpers allowed in DPR pools? How about those swimsuits with incorporated rings! Like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007JCK5GG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_946eDbDBWV1J9
Would one of these be allowed? Intex My Baby Float https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00591FOQK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_q26eDbZFWFY3A |
I've seen plenty of kids at the DPR pool we go to with puddle jumpers and other kinds of floats. I think the more elaborate ones would be disruptive though. |
My kids were told they couldn't wear their inflatable swim vest at Upshur pool. Anything foam based was fine but nothing inflatable because 'it could get a leak'. Not that we were planning on putting our toddlers in and leaving mind you. |
Banneker has vests that you can grab and use. I've also seen kids/parents utilize all kinds of floating devices. |
I'd skip anything inflatable, and that baby float thing probably won't work, either--it's kind of big, in addition to being inflatable. But a puddle jumper or another foam floatie should be fine. They also have foam life jackets that you can use. |
The Puddle Jumper is a Coast Guard approved PFD. Pools allow them. |
How old are your twins? The life vests at the Takoma pool are pretty small - I think they'd fit kids as young as 2. |
OP here. Thanks everyone. I’ll give the puddle jumpers a try. My twins are 3.5 but only 23 and 25 lbs, so I’m not sure they’ll work but we’ll try. I tried regular life jackets before and they complained the whole time, so I
Hoping they like these better. The ring floats were for my 9mo, though I wouldn’t bring him without another adult. |
That baby float is not going to work for your kids even if they are only 25 pounds. i have a puddle jumper-like think that has a vest so they say on better.

+1 - my small 3.5 year old wears one like this. It’s speedo. I think it’s called a splashjammer? |
