What was your IVF protocol and which day did you start?

About to start my first IVF cycle unfortunately my doctor and nurse are out of the office and never told me whether they want me to start on CD 21 beginning with lupron or beginning my natural CD1 with birth control pills.

For those of you who have done IVF- did you start the protocol with Lupron or did you use birth control pills first?

I am trying to plan my own summer vacation dates so I can plan - help!
