Social etiquette for play dates ...

When should I get a hold of two moms I met through an organization? We just had a play date Friday. Do I let a few weeks pass by? I sent a funny parenting meme and thanks them for the get together but I don’t want to get w hold of them just yet for another meet up. What’s the rules with these things?

There are no rules. If your kid had fun and wants to get together, or you think your child would like to play again, ask if they are interested in getting together again. Include a date and a location but say that you are pretty open to anything. See what they say. Just be polite and friendly.

Uh oh. Are you the mom of the infant who met up with moms of toddlers 30 min away and were pissed they didn’t text back within 24 hrs?

I always thought people who referenced old posts were odd and spent too much time on this site but I remember that post clearly and this post also reminded me of that.

You are thinking way too much about this. Say thanks for coming over and that is it. You’ll see them again at whatever organization you are in or at a children’s event/activity right? I would give one of them a chance to reach out and plan something if they want to get together again.

OP here: What is so wrong with asking for guidance on play dates? I’m the woman who asked about advice in regards to play dates across town. I was having issues typing so it came out weird. I didn’t realize until someone else pointed out that having play dates with people who live across town might be tricky. I’ve got two lined up and I’m looking forward to it. I just want to find my own tribe. What is so wrong with that?
