So I've managed to get my one year old both his shots (at a DC clinic the first time; pediatricians office the second time), and as a result have gotten a little out of date on the most recent H1N1 vaccine clinic info. What's the most current info on availability of the vaccine for adults? (Not sure that caregiver of a 1 year old is a priority group). I don't think DC clinics have it; does anywhere else?
Please don't flame -- not trying to get the vaccine if it is still not widely available. Just trying to figure out the latest and greatest info. TIA. |
| My regualr doctor has the H1N1 vax for adults. Also, Prince William County has always been giving it to adults that want it. |

Actually, in Prince William, they are giving it to adults that fall under the CDC guidance.
http://www.pwcgov.org/default.aspx?topic=040063002310005535 "These clinics will target the groups recommended by the CDC (listed below). CDC Target Group Information The CDC has recommended that certain groups of the population receive the 2009 H1N1 vaccine when it first becomes available. These at target groups include: pregnant women people who live with or care for children younger than six months of age healthcare and emergency medical services personnel children between the ages of six months and 24 years old people ages of 25 through 64 years of age who are at higher risk for 2009 H1N1 because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems" |
| While Prince William may list that they are targeting certain groups on their website, they are giving it to all adults. At least 4 of my neighbors have gotten it their H1N1 vax there and none of them fell into the CDC categories. If you call the Manassas location of the Health Dept, they will tell you to come in. |
