It’s early but with all the 2020 talk I thought it might be time to start a thread encompassing all the 2020 House races. There have been a few developments this week.
The member in charge of taking the House back for the Republicans is seemingly not having a great go of it. “GOP lawmakers and strategists are voicing deep concerns about National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman Rep. Tom Emmer (Minn.) and his team's 2020 strategy. In recent weeks, a number of top Republicans have aired grievances with the House GOP campaign arm's approach, with some going as far as questioning if Emmer and his operation are in over their heads.” https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/449437-republicans-raise-concerns-over-house-campaign-arm-leadership?amp&__twitter_impression=true Also, the GOP’s head of House recruiting, Rep. Susan Brooks of Indiana, is retiring. Not only another bad sign for the Rs taking back the House, but also her open seat might be flippable - same profile as the ones the Democrats flipped in Oklahoma and Kansas. https://amp.indystar.com/amp/1454213001?__twitter_impression=true And damned if this isn’t one of the best ads introducing a candidate that I’ve ever seen, from retired Colonel Kim Olson, running in TX-24 against Kenny Marchant who won by only 3% last time. Give it a few minutes of your time, please. A+ Democratic recruit. https://twitter.com/kimolsontx/status/1141032226148233222?s=21 |

Oh lovely. Steve Scalise refuses to say House Republicans won’t use stolen or hacked campaign material in the 2020 election.
House Republicans pulled out of talks with Democrats to not use stolen or hacked material in 2018 and the RNC has made no commitment either. https://www.politico.com/amp/story/2019/04/23/dnc-hacked-emails-2020-election-1374444?__twitter_impression=true |
The NRCC raised $4.86 million in May, vs. $8.85 million for the DCCC.
Year-to-date: DCCC: $49 million raised; NRCC: $35 million raised |
Well this Tennessee candidate is off to a rip-roaring start with his MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN billboard.

Also retiring:
Rep. Rob Woodall (R), who won GA-7 by only 419 votes last time. Rep. Paul Mitchell (R, MI-10), a safe Republican seat Rep. Pete Olson (R, TX-22) from his seat in the swingy Houston suburbs. He won by 5 points last year but without him him the seat is a tossup. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/texas-republican-rep-pete-olson-announces-he-wont-run-for-reelection/2019/07/25/5a77638a-af23-11e9-bc5c-e73b603e7f38_story.html?utm_term=.e82fe81f8606 |
Another day, another House Republican calls it quits. Rep. Martha Roby announced that she would not seek a sixth term in Alabama’s 2nd District. She and Susan Brooks who is also retiring account for 2 of the only 13 GOP women in the House.
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/454934-gop-rep-martha-roby-to-retire?amp&__twitter_impression=true Safe Republican seat. |
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised nearly twice as much as the National Republican Congressional Committee this quarter as of their latest FEC reports.

With her mounting legal problems, she should simply resign, but she won't. Lindell could easily take her seat. He's proven himself to be a pillar of honesty and integrity. How refreshing is that? |
Is this for real or satire? Looks like it is straight from the Onion. |
Is this some kind of Haiku? Who is Lindell and when did he prove himself? This is not even fake news. Put honest some effort. |
Only a bubbled suffocating Leftie doesn't know Mike Lindell and his heroic story of incredible success. |
Doesn't he brag about how he used to sell and use cocaine? I guess he'll have a lot in common with Mitch McConnell. This makes me wonder how he got the funds to start the pillow manufacturing company. Laundered money? Republicans really have no morals any more. |
