Uber for kids.... Hop Skip Drive?

Anonymous
Has anyone tried this car service for kids? It’s new to the DC area. Any feedback?

No, but someone needs to start a ride-service with car-seats for families that want to get around in the city.

At 20 buck per ride, it is $40 for a round trip. I'd rather hire someone.

uhm, Uber already has that option. Scroll till you see Uber with carseat.

I've tried this twice and both times the driver had only a booster, not a real carseat.

HopSkipDrive has been live in DC for about 6 months now. Anyone with experience they can share, since this original post in June?
Eager to hear how it works if used for picking kids up from school when they need to be collected from inside the building versus them meeting the car at the curb.
Thanks in advance!

Ha this reminds me of the Little Red Rider in NoVa when I was a kid, does anyone remember that?

This has been the general consensus. If you have a daily activity, it is $200/week. No thanks.

You won't be able to find someone willing to commit to every day for much less than $200.

But then you know them and probably have other duties.

The amount you would have to pay to cover the hassle of having different car seats, installing/uninstalling, extra liability insurance etc. for the driver would make people opt not to use the service, making it not profitable. If it was profitable, it would already be offered.
