| Before I have to tell my son the crushing news that he didn’t make ADP, does anyone know if I can put any stock in the “at this time” phrase? Or is that the standard decline message? Is there a waitlist? |
|
At this time means "for this year."
|
| There is a waitlist, but I don’t know how much it will move. What group? Some move more than others. |
Doesn’t specify the group just says there is a possibility of offers being made in the coming weeks. |
*of additional offers being made in the coming weeks |
|
What YEAR group?
I’ve know kids to move off the wait list after the deadline passes to accept your spot and they still have openings. |
I mean what year (U9, etc.). |
| It means that this time around, he didn't make it. You're encouraged to try again another time. |
2010 |
U10 |
There might be some movement there, but I don’t know how much. It seems like the older they get, the less waitlist movement. But I wouldn’t give him hope, let him accept that he didn’t make it this year, and then if he does get a spot, it’s a happy surprise. |
| We also didn’t make it. My older child did ADP for a year, did not make travel (pretty much no one does from adp) and now plays travel at a different club. It’s worked out fine for him but he loves soccer and is one of the oldest in his age group. My younger one is probably one of the youngest that was trying out so at a distinct disadvantage with a late December birthday. Oh well. |
Did you also get the “at this time” language? I’m just trying to figure out if that means we were placed on a waitlist. It says “additional offers may be made in the coming weeks.” Stock denial language or waitlist? |
Everyone gets that language. |
Untrue. |
