| I had a massive oversupply with my first, lots of leaking, and a forceful letdown. Should I anticipate a similar experience with #2? |
| Nursing my second baby now. I had an oversupply with the first and it has been even worse with #2, sorry to say. Multiple shirts a day, leaking through breast pads, baby sputtering at fast letdown. We are 8 months in and it’s regulated, but I still wake up with a wet shirt after he sleeps through the night. |
| Mine's been about the same so far (4 weeks in with #2) |
| Apparently the Haaka helps to collect leaking milk while you nurse on the other side. I rarely or never leak so am giving it a pass but the reviews are overwhelmingly positive. |
| Just don’t pump or relieve engorgement at all in the beginning (that would tell your body to make even more milk) Supply should regulate by 6-8 weeks and you won’t be in so much pain. For my second I had to buy lecithin and take it often. I never got mastitis but I had several painful clogs. I had a lot more milk my second time. |
|
I had more milk the second time. And I never pulled to relieve engorgement to give my body the right signal and it gave me two rounds of mastitis.
For my third I took the lecithin and had no mastitis. Take it!! And I pumped with the third to relieve the worst of the engorgement and my supply actually regulated faster. |
| Oversupply with #1 so I did everything I could to control it with #2 and was able to stabilize my supply through block feeding around 4-6 weeks. Absolutely worth it!! I never pumped unless I was away from the baby and used the Haaka to relieve fullness when needed. |
