I have an old car that is worth only $4000, so I don't bother with collision coverage -- the policy covers liability, and that is it.
I drive about 4000 miles a year. Is $670 per year a reasonable cost for this policy, or does it seem high? If you think it is high, what insurance company do you suggest I get a quote from? |

How much is the liability coverage? Could you lower that? It doesn't sound too bad. Are you a male under 25, bad driving record?

I'm guessing OP is looking at minimum liability. Ask about a discount for low miles driven, I think that's under 7500 miles a year. If that's your only car, that's probably about right, depending on your age, driving record, where you live, how long you've been with the insurer. I had liability only for years. At one point it was down to about $20/mo but that was 20 years ago, and of course small accidents cost more now than they did then. Also ask about discount if you pay the entire premium as opposed to monthly. |
