Can you buy a spot on the DA?

Given the Varsity Blues scandal, it got me thinking: do you think any money has changed hands behind some kids making DA and some not?

Everyone buys a spot on the DA. It's all about the $$$$.

Why should USSF spend its $130 million surplus on developing players? That's the parents' job!

Agree but it’s not like ECNL, EDP and the others are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. Everyone getting in on the parents cash.

I think this thread should be taken down based on someone attempting to bully a child. I am disgusted with FCV parents.

How do you know it is an FCV parent?

Sounds to me more likely a parent from another club calling FCV out!

How would the parents of another club know the details around a player being given special treatment based on a quid pro quo?

Exact same way a previous posted claimed it was an FCV parent. Rumor and speculation.

Rumors run rampant with half truths being spread about clubs, coaches, parents, players, etc.

Tin foil hat alert. Make sure your brain is secured for the “discussion”

The action had nothing to do with the kid, and everything to do with the parent and the club. Not sure the kid is even aware. Those on the DA team (parents and players) and the team the kid came from (coaches, parents, and players) know this fact already and already talk about it. It is a well known fact that preferential treatment was given. Yes, it is shameful that a parent would do this and a club would agree to it. Despite the unfair advantage, I hope that given the opportunity that the kid thrives so this does not turn out worse. Anyhow, those that are close to the situation know it, and those on this forum acting offended, are probably “in the know too” and are feigning shock.

Deny all you want. It is a fact. Wake up and smell the coffee, unless of course you’re already well aware of the truth and are blowing smoke.
